This high-energy Fosse class dives into the iconic style made famous by Bob Fosse where every rolled shoulder, sharp wrist, and perfectly timed pause tells a story. Students will get the chance to explore classic Fosse technique, including precision movement, musicality, isolations, character-driven choreography, and that unmistakable cool confidence that makes this style so thrilling to watch. This class will explore storytelling through movement and developing a strong sense of style while staying age-appropriate and empowering. Perfect for dancers who love musical theatre, and performance with attitude! No experience is necessary, just a willingness to learn and try new things. If you’re ready to sharpen your technique, expand your performance skills, and bring a little Broadway bite to RCSA… this is the class! Jazz shoes or character heels are encouraged but are not required.

Rose Kurutz (Choreographer & Actress) – is a Chicago-based choreographer and performer with a collaborative and narrative-forward approach to movement. She began her training at age three with the Des Plaines Dance Academy and later with the Artistry in Motion Dance Company. In those formative years, she discovered her passion for storytelling and premiered her first work at age 14. During her collegiate career, Rose became a member of Miami University Dance Theatre and created six original concert pieces. Her musical theatre choreography credits include The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical, 9 to 5: The Musical, and The Addams Family Musical with MU Stage Left, followed by The Rocky Horror Show with BrightSide Theatre. She currently continues to train while exploring the intersections of dance and performance art. Rose is so excited to continue her work with RCSA after having just choreographed Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
