Those enrolled will get the opportunity – not only have a blast over spring break – to sing some of their favorite show tunes, enjoy some fun, explore dynamic choreography that gets everyone moving, and acting games to help build confidence and individuality. Students will share plenty of laughs, make new friends, and experience the “wait… can we do that again?” moments!! The musical workshop is designed for ages 7 – 18 without being overly advanced and structured to accommodate ALL skill levels. To finish the week, students will have a casual, low-pressure showcase on the final day where they get to show off what they’ve been working on for family and friends. No stress and just pure fun and applause. Join us this spring break and let’s keep… “Dancing Through Life!”

MEET THE INSTRUCTORS
A woman with long wavy brown hair wearing a black top and large hoop earrings stands in front of a white brick wall, looking directly at the camera with a neutral expression.

Christina Giorgi (Acting) is a recent graduate from Illinois Wesleyan University where she obtained her BFA in acting with a minor in Hispanic studies. When not acting, Christina has a passion for teaching and directing. For the past two summers, she has worked as a teaching artist for young performers at the New London Barn Playhouse. Born and raised in Crystal Lake, Christina is thrilled to be working with young performers and providing them a safe space to expand on their dreams of becoming a performer just like she had at their age.

A middle-aged man with a beard and receding hairline is wearing a suit, white shirt, and patterned tie. He stands in front of a light-colored, horizontally-striped background, smiling slightly.

Marty Karlin (Music Director) has served as a Music Director for various community theater groups for over 20 years and has worked with actors of all ages and talent levels. His philosophy is “No fun without music and no music without fun!” He’s thrilled to be working with the talented RCSA students again after “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.”

A person with short, reddish-brown hair and light skin gazes at the camera over their shoulder. They are wearing a sleeveless top and silver earrings, with soft lighting casting a shadow on the wall behind them.

Rose Kurutz (Choreographer) is a Chicago-based choreographer and performer with a collaborative and narrative-forward approach to movement. She began her training at age three with the Des Plaines Dance Academy and later with the Artistry in Motion Dance Company. In those formative years, she discovered her passion for storytelling and premiered her first work at age 14. During her collegiate career, Rose became a member of Miami University Dance Theatre and created six original concert pieces. Her musical theatre choreography credits include The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical, 9 to 5: The Musical, and The Addams Family Musical with MU Stage Left, followed by The Rocky Horror Show with BrightSide Theatre. She currently continues to train while exploring the intersections of dance and performance art. Rose is so excited to be working with RCSA for the first time!
