Sage On Stage

Raue Center’s Sage Studio proudly introduces SAGE ON STAGE, an educational production program designed to take students from page to stage!

Students rehearse, honing their performance and theatre skills, learning the “behind-the-scenes” of what goes into a Raue Center show, and working alongside professional actors and instructors. Students build on all the great performance fundamentals taught in Sage Studio classes and then put those skills into practice for an audience as part of the youth cast for a full-scale mainstage production! All registered students will be part of the show!

Sage Backstage is a new and unique opportunity for local high school-aged students who want to get a chance to learn about all of the different aspects of theatrical production that are not typically in the spotlight. We are thrilled to offer students the chance to try their hand at set building, lighting, sound, and the myriad other jobs that help the shows we love to see run smoothly. Stay tuned for more opportunities to get involved with Raue Center’s SAGE BACKSTAGE.

This program meets at the same time as SAGE ON STAGE production rehearsals and focuses on all the fun stuff behind the scenes–including scenic artistry, props, and costume crafts, lighting, and sound. Students also get to be part of the show itself as run crew and get to experience the excitement of putting together the show from start to finish!

Students should also be available for all performance dates and tech rehearsals (see Timeline section below). Questions? Email education@rauecenter.org.

All registered students participate in Sage On Stage productions! Students will get to work on all technical aspects, but if your student has a particular interest and experience in a specific area of technical theatre, email us at education@rauecenter.org with details.
