PAH-Fest is an internationally recognized festival that teaches the young and old how to tell a story with different forms of digital media. Professionals from around the country judge and give feedback on each piece, including Sergey Brin, co-founder of Google. Last year, children from all over the region participated in “Circus Vision” and adults participated in “Cell Phone Art.”
Through a variety of fun and exciting contests, local participants are invited to create their own short digital films with Flip cameras and video-enabled mobile phones provided by the Festival. Activities include:
•Cell Phone Art—Using a video-enabled cell phone, participants shoot a one minute piece (no editing, continuous) on a topic related to the community
•DigiPortrait—Using a flip video camera, participants shoot a two minute or less portrait of themselves or someone else.
•Tone Poem—Using a flip camera, participants shoot visual images that match their original music. Piece is two minutes or less.
•Circus Vision—Using a cell phone, kids 14 and under participate in a treasure hunt adventure and shoot a two and a half minute or less piece capturing a list of visual ingredients provided by the festival.
