A full night of entertainment! At 8:30 enjoy stand-up comedy at its best with Pat McGann & Mike Toomey. Then at 10:00 listen to the country music stylings of Robbins and Wheeler.

ABOUT LUCY’S CAFE

Perhaps the most unique setting in McHenry County: Lucy’s Café is an eclectic nightclub showcasing brilliant improvisation, comedy, poetry and music. Set on stage (you won’t find a bad seat) with private or community tables and cash bar, as the lights go down the performers will begin their show.

Make your night complete! When purchasing tickets, you can add a bottle of house red or white wine for only $22; a small cheese platter for $14 or a large cheese platter for $18. Cheese platters come with three kinds of cheese, nuts, fruit, salami and crackers.

ABOUT THE PERFORMERS

Mike Toomey – With his sharp delivery, quick wit and unique style, Mike Toomey has been a favorite at comedy clubs and special events since 1982. Mike has appeared in concert with such names as Wayne Newton; Crosby, Stills & Nash and Reba McIntyre. He has performed on numerous television programs including; HBO’s U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen, Colorado; MTV’s Half Hour Comedy Hour and A&E’s Comedy on the Road. The Chicago Tribune calls Mike, “One of the funniest and most talented performers to ever work in Chicago.” For an evening of uncontrollable laughs, Mike Toomey is a sure choice!

Pat McGann – A rising comic and one of the funniest comedians that you haven’t heard of…YET! In less than a year’s time Pat has performed at Zanies, The Improv (Chicago), Comedy Club on State in Madison, Capitol City Comedy Club in Austin, Dr. Grin’s in Grand Rapids, the Comedy Café in Milwaukee….and many more.

Pat was recently named one of Chicago’s Top 10 Funniest by Reader’s Digest. He has opened for national headliners such as Gilbert Gottfried, Jim Breuer and Kevin Nealon. Currently, Pat can be seen all over the United States performing at colleges, casinos and corporate events. This summer he performed at a showcase of Chicago’s top comedians at the legendary Soldier Field. In 2009, Pat will be a mainstay at the legendary Zanies Chicago Comedy Club where he will be Zanies’ first house emcee in over 5 years.

Pat grew up on the south side of Chicago and his keen observations and life experiences, such as 16 years attending Catholic schools and traveling the country as a packaging salesman are where he draws his material from. Pat’s clever writing and delivery has translated into a style of comedy that is enjoyed by men and women of all ages and is sure to make you laugh!

Robbins & Wheeler – Veterans of studio and stage, they met in 1997 while playing on a studio demo session and started collaboration shortly after. Published songwriters and ASCAP members Robbins & Wheeler have a passion to create music that is true to the rich heritage of country music, yet has an original sound and contemporary feel. “Our creative process is based on mutual respect for each others talent and what we both contribute to a project” states Robbins. As Wheeler confirms “We draw from our experiences, write songs, produce and arrange our material in a way that is varied without replicating others.

The first CD release, “Everyone Needs A Song” yielded four hit singles on independent country radio stations throughout the United States. The first single “Carry Me Away” hit the number three spot on the charts and remained there for five weeks. The next three releases, “Alone With You” “Ghost Of James Dean” and “Nothing But Love On Our Mind” all charted to the number one position.

The latest CD from Robbins & Wheeler “Bring It Back” on Merle Head Records is enjoying national success with the hit single “Where’s The Country Music”. Robbins & Wheeler are currently in the studio in preparation for a new album The Robbins & Wheeler live stage show continues to deliver outstanding performances to delighted audiences.
