1776 has earned the reputation of serving truly innovative New American Cuisine.
1776 was rated 3 Stars by the Chicago Tribune and Chicago Magazine, Best Restaurant in the Northwest Suburbs by the Daily Herald and is listed as one of the top 100 restaurants in the area by the American Tasting Institute. 1776’s menu features Jambalaya, Rack of Lamb, Beer Battered Gulf Shrimp, Maryland Crab Cakes and Iowa Pork Chops. 1776 also serves a variety of seafood and wild game specialties. Big Brothers Big Sisters of McHenry County
Big Brothers Big Sisters matches adult volunteers with children ages 6-14 in need of a positive role model. Our mission is to help children in need reach their potential through professionally supported one-to-one Big Brothers Big Sisters mentoring relationships that will improve the lives of these children forever. 512 children benefited this year from our programs. The friendship, trust and mutual respect that is fostered between a mentor and a child has proven to have lasting effects on the child’s mental health and overall sense of well being. As a result, these children grow into caring and productive adults who have developed the necessary tools to face life’s challenges.
